Description

1871 Two Cent, MS66 Red
Beautiful Registry-Grade Example

1871 2C MS66 Red PCGS. Red examples of the 1871 two cent pieces are in the small minority of the Mint State survivorship. While PCGS lists nearly 1,000 Brown grading events and some 300 Red and Brown, only 47 submissions have earned a Red grade. This finest of these is a lone MS67 Red coin, with nine Premium Gem Reds being the next best. The current Premium Gem Red is an ideal opportunity for the Registry collector. A bold strike and satiny copper-red and orange luster adorn each side, but the chief draw is the complete absence of carbon spotting. PCGS Population: 9 in 66 (1 in 66+), 1 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 5NAU, PCGS# 3611, Greysheet# 2703)
