Description

1872 Two Cent Piece, MS62 Brown
Last Business-Strike Issue

1872 2C MS62 Brown NGC. The year 1872 saw the last business-strike mintage of two cent coins, with a meager production total of 65,000 pieces. Examples in MS62 condition, with the Brown designation, are quite rare today. The present coin is a well struck specimen, with a touch of softness showing on the motto. The surfaces display an intermingled red and brown patina, with much original mint luster still evident. Census: 1 in 62 Brown, 7 finer (9/10).(Registry values: N1793)
