    Description

Four-Piece Lot of General U.S. Grant Tokens. Includes: brass, 21 mm, GENERAL U.S. GRANT, PRES. 1869 to '77, rev. A CIVIC GRANT FOR ALABAMA CLAIMS, center CIVIS LONDINIENSIS, JUNE 15 1877; a second copper piece from the same dies, 21 mm; brass, 21 mm, GENERAL U.S. GRANT, PRES. 1869 to '77, rev. TO HIM THAT HATH SHALL BE GIVEN, CIVIS EDINBURGENSIS [B and N double-stamped] AUG. 31 1877 / HER YOUNGEST BURGESS, in tiny letters I.F.W. / DES.; and a second copper piece from the same dies, 21 mm. All of the above are Mint State, with considerable red on the copper pieces--an interesting lot of apparently satirical tokens that could bear more research.

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
