Republic 5 Bolivares 1888 MS61 NGC, Caracas mint, KM-Y24.1, Stohr-49. Second 8 High. 19th century Bolivar "Crowns" are notoriously elusive to collectors seeking Mint State specimens. Here we have the pleasure of offering just that, the finest example of the date Heritage has ever handled. Though not noted on the holder, the second "8" in the date is slightly higher than on it's counterpart variety, and this MS61 representative outranks all five of the variety designated examples appearing on NGC's census. A welcome selection for enthusiasts of this proud series.
