Description

1916 Half Dollar, MS66
Low-Mintage Philly Issue

1916 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Dappled olive-green, golden-brown, and steel-gray toning deepens moderately toward the rims. A coruscating and crisply struck example; close to pristine except for unobtrusive contact on the eagle's rock above the R in DOLLAR. The first-year 1916 is seldom regarded as a key issue, but it does possess the second-lowest Philadelphia mintage of the series, trailing only the 1921. Encapsulated in an old green label holder. Population: 93 in 66 (6 in 66+), 5 finer (6/15).
