Description

1916-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, MS65
First-Year Branch Mint Issue

1916-S 50C MS65 PCGS. Ex: Betty's Walkers. The San Francisco Mint struck a small production of 508,000 Walking Liberty half dollars in 1916, the first year of the design. The issue is scarce at the MS65 grade level, and it becomes even more elusive in finer grades. This impressive Gem example offers well-detailed design elements, with a touch of the usual softness on the wreath hand and eagle's leg, and lightly marked lustrous surfaces, with outstanding eye appeal. PCGS has graded 23 numerically finer examples (11/25).(Registry values: N2998)
