Condition Scarcity 1917-D Reverse, MS64

1917-D 50C Reverse MS64 PCGS. The mintmark on Walking Liberty Half Dollars moved from the obverse to the reverse during 1917, creating obvious varieties for those pieces minted in Denver and San Francisco. Although the 1917-D with obverse mintmark is marginally tougher to find in low grades, the variety with the reverse mintmark is markedly scarcer in Mint State. This piece features soft golden-brown toning over satin luster, with a relatively strong strike. A few marks on the obverse appear to determine the grade.(Registry values: N2998)
