Description

1917-S Obverse Half Dollar, AU58
Sharply Struck, CAC

1917-S 50C Obverse Mintmark AU58 PCGS. CAC. This is a sharply struck near-Mint Walking Liberty half with only light friction across the devices. Luster is abundant and illuminates the champagne-silver surfaces for exceptional visual presentation. Light abrasions are seen under a loupe, one of notice under the T in LIBERTY that serves as a pedigree marker. The obverse mintmark was only placed on Weinman's half dollar in 1916 and part of 1917, and while somewhat plentiful in MS64, the 1917-S is scarce in Gem and exceedingly rare any finer.(Registry values: N1793)
