1917-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, MS63
Elusive Obverse Mintmark Variant
1917-S 50C Obverse Mintmark MS63 NGC. The 1917-S Obverse
Mintmark half dollar is occasionally available in Mint State,
although attractive pieces are scarce. This Select representative
displays satiny ivory-white luster and above-average design
sharpness. Only minor handling marks are evident beneath a loupe.
The mintmark was repositioned on the reverse later in the year.
Coinage of Obverse Mintmark pieces amounted to 952,000
