Marvelous 1917-S Obverse Mintmark Half, MS64
1917-S 50C Obverse MS64 PCGS. CAC. The CAC seal of approval joins with our own approbation of this marvelous silvery near-Gem. The strike is sharp on Liberty's split thumb, as well as on the head. Note the small leaves and their detailing on the wreath Liberty totes. This issue in so high a grade is quite elusive, and Gems are even more difficult. PCGS has certified only 39 coins finer than this high-end piece (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24PT, PCGS# 6572, GSID# 6715)
