Description
Near-Gem 1917-S Reverse Mintmark Half Dollar
1917-S 50C Reverse MS64 PCGS. A popular issue although not as elusive as the Obverse Mintmark variety, the 1917-S Reverse Mintmark is nonetheless seldom seen at the next grade level, where the populations thin dramatically. This highly lustrous piece shows rose and lilac toning on the obverse, and differing colors, mainly pale lilac on the reverse. There are relatively few abrasions, although some strike softness shows at the high points of each side. PCGS has certified 44 pieces finer (10/09).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24PU, PCGS# 6573, GSID# 6716)
