Colorful 1917-S Reverse Mintmark Half, MS64

1917-S 50C Reverse MS64 PCGS. This lovely piece has deep golden-brown, steel-blue, and iridescent toning over frosty luster. Both sides are slightly weak at the centers, typical of the early S-Mint Walkers. Pieces struck in 1916 and early in 1917 had their mintmark on the obverse, while those struck later in 1917 and on to 1947 had the mintmark on the reverse. some collectors consider these separate subtypes of the Walking Liberty series.(Registry values: N1793)
