Description

Notable Near-Gem 1918-D Half Dollar

1918-D 50C MS64 NGC. A shimmering, near-Gem quality representative of a D-mint issue that is scarce in any Mint State grade. Nearly all of the 3,853,040 half dollars produced by the Denver Mint in 1918 entered the channels of commerce and stayed there for decades. This satiny example is boldly struck and shows just a hint of golden peripheral color, but the overall appearance is flashy and brilliant. NGC has graded just 15 numerically finer pieces (7/10).(Registry values: N2998)
