Description
1919 Walking Liberty Half, MS66
Exceptional Preservation, Seldom Finer
1919 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Brilliantly lustrous and
essentially untoned, the Premium Gem surfaces of this low-mintage
early issue display sharp eye appeal and only a few tiny, trivial
marks that are visible with magnification. Only the 1921 issue
claims a lower mintage among the P-Mint Walking Liberty halves.A solid strike for the 1919 date exists here -- particularly on Liberty's often-weak head -- combined with smooth and lustrous surfaces. Few rivals of similar or finer quality remain among the survivors from its six-figure mintage. PCGS reports a mere five finer representatives -- a situation that has not changed in at least seven years, when we last offered this same exceptional coin. Population: 23 in 66, 5 finer. CAC: 6 in 66, 4 finer (6/16).
