Description

1919-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar, MS64+ CAC
A Major Rarity One Point Finer

1919-D 50C MS64+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: Betty's Walkers. From a mintage of 1.16 million pieces, the 1919-D Walking Liberty half dollar is a prime condition rarity in the popular series. The 1919-D is scarce at the MS64 grade level, and it is the most elusive issue in the series in MS65, or finer grades. This Plus-graded Choice example exhibits a bold strike for the issue, which is often seen with weak central details. This coin shows fine definition on Liberty's head and clear separation between the thumb and fingers of the wreath hand. Just a trace of the usual softness is evident on the eagle's leg. Hints of pale lavender-gray toning visit the well-preserved surfaces, with vibrant mint luster on both sides. The high quality within the grade is confirmed by CAC. Population: 8 in 64+, 11 finer. CAC: 20 in 64, 1 finer (11/25).(Registry values: N4719)
