Description

1920-D Half Dollar, MS63
A Satiny, Well-Struck Example of This Rarity

1920-D 50C MS63 NGC. While some may overlook the 1920-D as it is positioned between the 1919 and 1921 issues, specialists know how challenging it is in the context of this difficult and highly collectible series. In overall rarity in mint condition, the 1920-D ranks fifth out of the 65-issue series, and also fifth among early issues. The overall striking details are strong on this piece, with the exception of the head detail of Liberty. The mint luster is satiny and both sides are lightly covered with pale rose and lilac toning. The only mentionable mark is located on the neck of Liberty.
