Description
1921-D Half Dollar, MS64
A Rare and Highly Regarded Early Issue
1921-D 50C MS64 PCGS. As with almost all the 1919, 1920, and
1921 issues in the Walking Liberty series, the 1921-D is a highly
respected and well-known absolute and condition rarity. It is
ranked fourth in the series in mint condition. A near-Gem, such as
this piece, is a great buy for the collector as it has almost all
the attributes of a Gem at half the price. The striking detail on
this piece is exceptionally sharp, not only for the issue but for
early Walkers in general. The hard, satiny luster has an even layer
of lilac-rose toning over each side. Only a couple of minor ticks
keep this upper-end piece from an MS65 grade. From The Helen Gates Kirk Collection.(Registry values: N2998)
