Description

1923-S Half Dollar, AU58
Lustrous and Attractive, CAC

1923-S 50C AU58 PCGS. CAC. The Walking Liberty half dollar returned to production in 1923 following a one-year pause in 1922, but with only the San Francisco Mint. The issue is much scarcer than its mintage of more than 2.1 million coins would suggest, and Mint State examples prove elusive. Only light high-point wear appears on this lustrous and satiny near-Mint piece. Generally brilliant surfaces have faint undertones of lavender, and the central softness seen is typical of the issue.(Registry values: N991)
