Many collectors consider MS63 to be the optimum collecting grade for the early Walking Liberty half dollars, representing attractive coins and a nominal price when compared to the next few grade levels. According to the PCGS Price Guide, an MS64 1923-S half dollar is valued 25% higher than this MS63, and an MS65 is nearly five times the price of this Select Mint State piece. Both sides are fully brilliant and highly lustrous with no toning on the silver-white surfaces.
