Description

Well-Preserved 1929-D Walker Half, MS66

1929-D 50C MS66 PCGS. In spite of its low mintage total of just over 1 million pieces, the 1929-D Walking Liberty half dollar is readily available in grades up to the Gem level. There was little demand for the coins during the Depression, and many pieces were preserved in bank vaults for many years. The issue becomes quite scarce in MS66, however, and only one single specimen has been graded MS67 by NGC and PCGS combined (10/09). The present coin is sharply struck, with shades of lilac and green toning, and spots of russet. Population: 51 in 66, 1 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N2998)
