Description

1929-D Half Dollar, MS67
CAC Endorsed
A Condition Census Rarity

1929-D 50C MS67 PCGS Secure. CAC. The 1929-D has the third-lowest annual mintage figure of all Denver issues in the Walking Liberty half dollar series (a trifle more than 1 million coins), trailing only the 1921-D and 1938-D. The issue also represents the only coinage of this denomination from Denver between 1921 and 1934. While the date is available in the overall sense, Premium Gems are conditionally scarce, and the 1929-D is a major rarity in MS67 with no pieces known finer. This example is one of only two Superb Gems at PCGS, with a single coin in this grade at NGC (3/18). Both of the PCGS coins are plated on CoinFacts.

This piece is one of the two top-grade coins that CAC has awarded a green approval sticker, making it a must-have item for the Registry Set collector. Liberty's head and branch hand are well-defined, and partial feather detail is visible on the eagle's trailing leg. Softly frosted mint luster shows no abrasions. Beautiful multicolor toning encompasses the right margin on each side, leaving the remainder of this high Condition Census Walker tinted a warm champagne hue.(Registry values: N4719)
