Description
Highly Lustrous 1933-S Gem Half Dollar
1933-S 50C MS65 PCGS. The first Walking Liberty half dollar struck since 1929, as economic conditions began to improve and coinage production edged upward. Intense luster radiates from essentially untoned surfaces (save for a splash of light gold on the left, or right facing breast) that exhibit sharply struck design elements. Liberty's left hand area and the adjacent branches reveal exquisite detail, as do the gown lines and the eagle's breast and leg feathers. A couple of minute obverse marks do not detract in the least.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24RE, PCGS# 6591, GSID# 6730)
