Description

1940 Half Dollar, MS68
Unseen Finer at PCGS

1940 50C MS68 PCGS. The unusual but attractive obverse toning, predominantly copper-orange, complements a rectangle of uninhibited brilliance, clearly caused by something that covered that area for years when the natural toning process was occurring. The reverse is untoned. Both sides show a notable lack of marks amid frosty luster. The 1940 Walking Liberty half is seldom seen so fine. Population: 28 in 68, 0 finer (8/16).(Registry values: N1793)
