Description

1921-D Half Dollar, MS63
Important Key Issue

1921-D 50C MS63 PCGS. The 1921-D Walking Liberty half boasts the lowest mintage of the series (208,000 coins), and is one of the most challenging dates in Mint State. Jeff Ambio, writing in his Strategy Guide for the series, states: "A 1921-D that grades even MS-62 or MS-63 represents an extremely important buying opportunity in any numismatic market." In Gem, this Denver issue is conditionally rare.

This Select example shows a soft golden-gray hue over each side, with only a few minor abrasions to limit the grade. Liberty's figure and the eagle's central feathers exhibit some of the usual softness, but partial thumb separation is nonetheless evident on Liberty's branch hand.
