    Description

    1932-D Washington Quarter, MS65
    Capstone to a Registry Set

1932-D 25C MS65 PCGS. "Gem 1932-D Washington quarter graded by PCGS." Could there be any sweeter music to the ears of series fans? While the 1932 Philadelphia issue was quite common in earlier days, the 1932-S and, particularly, the 1932-D slipped through the cracks due to their low mintages at a time when collecting coins by mintmark was not yet popular. This Gem 1932-D would form the capstone of a fine Registry Set; most 1932-D quarters, even in Mint State, usually grade no better than MS63. The paucity of marks on this recently graded example catapults it to the MS65 level, a piece showing silvery centers with deep amber-russet rim patina. Population: 64 in 65, 1 finer (4/13).(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 2448, PCGS# 5791)
