Description
1934 Washington Quarter, MS65
FS-101, Bold Doubled Die Obverse
1934 25C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS65 PCGS. The 1934
Washington quarter claimed the all-time high mintage of quarters at
just under 32 million pieces, a record promptly surpassed in 1935.
Along with varieties of different motto sizes, the issue also
includes the FS-101 doubled die obverse. The motto reveals the most
dramatic doubling for the 1934 issue as depicted on this lustrous
stone-gray Gem. Sharply struck and impressively unabraded, only a
couple of tiny field nicks are seen on this Gem quarter. Mint State
examples are scarce. PCGS Population (for the variety): 18 in 65 (3
