Description

Superb Gem 1936-D Quarter
Famous Conditional Rarity

1936-D 25C MS67 PCGS. Ex: Stella Colbert. After the 1932-D and 1932-S, the 1936-D is the key issue among early dates in the Washington quarter series. Both sides are alive with mint frost and appear pristine save for a small spot between the RT in LIBERTY. Toning is otherwise confined to a hint of tan-gold. A well struck and uncommonly high grade representative of this conditionally scarce D-mint delivery. NGC and PCGS report a total of only 17 examples in MS67 (3/12).
Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 7/2006), lot 2357, which realized $11,500.
