    Description

    1940-D/D Washington Quarter, MS66
    In-Demand
    Cherrypickers' Variety, Rare FS-501

1940-D/D 25C FS-501 MS66 PCGS. CAC. Remnants of a wayward mintmark stand out well clear to the left of the corrected D, a dramatic and popular Cherrypickers' variety for a Denver date that is already scarce at the Premium Gem level regardless of variety. One of the few repunched mintmarks that are totally separated from the primary mark in any series. Thick satin luster covers both sides of this pinpoint-sharp example, frost-white with faint gold and blue overtones. Population (for the variety): 9 in 66 (1 in 66+), 0 finer (2/16). (Variety PCGS# 145556, Base PCGS# 5812)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
