Description
1942-D 25C Doubled Die Reverse, FS-801, MS65 PCGS. The eagle and wreath a boldly die doubled on this important variety. The doubling is reminiscent of the "Shifted Eagle" doubled die on the 1901 Morgan dollar. PCGS has graded only eight Gem examples of this variety (four in MS65+) and three Premium Gems finer (1/18). This piece displays orange-gold, champagne, and sea-green toning in varying amounts on each side, with satiny, unabraded luster.From The jwb1040 Collection.
