Description
1943 Washington Quarter, MS63
FS-103, Rare Doubled Die Obverse
1943 25C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-103, MS63 PCGS. World War
II quarter production was increased to almost one billion pieces
each year from 1942 to 1944. These substantial mintages generated
doubled die varieties, and the 1943 FS-103 is one of the more
spectacular seen. Apart from the TY, all numerals and letters on
the obverse are prominently doubled. Luminous silver-white surfaces
are visited with tiny splashes of yellow-gold and violet toning. A
thin graze on the forehead is the only mark of note. PCGS
