Description

1961-D Quarter, MS67
Registry-Quality, Tied for Finest

1961-D 25C MS67 PCGS. CAC. The 1961-D quarter dollar mintage approached 84 million pieces, making it easily available through Gem condition. The certified population drops significantly in Premium Gem, however, and then again in MS67, where PCGS and NGC combined have have graded only 15 examples with none finer (6/14). Reddish-gold, crimson, and forest-green toning adheres to the left margins on both sides of this representative, being much deeper on the reverse. The design elements are sharply struck and pleasing luster radiates from each side. Impeccable preservation adds to the immense eye appeal, recognized by CAC. Population: 5 in 67, 0 finer (7/14).(Registry values: N991)
