Description

1962-D Quarter, MS67
Vivid, Multihued Toning

1962-D 25C MS67 NGC. CAC. A condition rarity of the series, this Superb Gem Washington quarter is common in lesser grades but distinctly rare in MS67. This example is radically toned on the obverse, with an intermingling of vivid colors. Brilliant vermilion-red and lemon-yellow hues display neon-green overtones. The reverse is more subtly iridescent, with lemon-yellow translucence combined with orange and red hues at the lower margin. A bold strike enhances the devices, and the surfaces are unabraded except for a three small digs by the eagle's tail. Census: 24 in 67 (2 in 67 ), 0 finer (3/14).(Registry values: N208)
