Description

Condition Rarity 1962-D Quarter, MS67
Rainbow-Toned on Both Sides

1962-D 25C MS67 PCGS. Ex: George's Army Collection. While the 1962-D Washington quarter might not spring to mind as a conditional rarity, most examples of the issue are left in the Gem-or-lower grades due to the reeding marks, contact marks, and general roughness that the pieces were subjected to, a function of the exceedingly large mintage exceeding 127 million coins. This is one of only two Superb Gems certified at PCGS, and there are none finer (3/12). A rainbow of color envelops both sides, and it takes a loupe to see any contact marks at all -- and they are not worth mentioning. Another fine quarter destined for a top Registry Set.
