Description
1943 Washington Quarter, MS68
Colorfully Toned Top-Grade Example
1943 25C MS68 PCGS. CAC. Ex: George's Army Collection. The
large wartime mintage of this 1943 Philadelphia quarter was nearly
100 million coins. However, just 10 pieces are recorded in MS68 at
PCGS and NGC combined, with none finer (4/19). This phenomenal
example is one of just five coins for the grade with CAC
endorsement, making it arguably one of the most highly sought-after
examples of the date hands down. Waves of orange-gold, crimson, and
olive occupy both sides, being slightly more extensive and deeper
on the reverse. The design elements are generally well-impressed.
Lustrous surfaces are impeccably well-preserved and yield stunning
eye appeal. The collector seeking colorfully toned coins will
appreciate this specimen. Population: 5 in 68, 0 finer. CAC: 5 in
68, 0 finer (4/19).Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2012), lot 4297; New York Signature (Heritage, 11/2013), lot 3605.
