Description
Choice Washington Before Boston Medal
Second Restrike, Paris Mint
(1860-1879) Washington Before Boston Medal MS64 NGC. Bronze,
68 mm. Baker-48G, R.4. Second restrike, Paris Mint. Bee privy mark
and CUIVRE on edge. NGC has incorrectly certified the piece from
the 1835 to 1860 Paris Mint era, which instead used a pointing hand
privy mark. Obverse die lumps match those seen on the Rulau plate
piece (second edition) on page 58. A well-made and nearly mark-free
example with a minor fingerprint on the upper reverse field and a
couple of faint streaks.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# HHLG, PCGS# 661020)
