Description

1776 Washington Before Boston 'Comitia Americana' Second Restrike, Baker-48G

1776 Washington Before Boston "Comitia Americana" Second Restrike, Paris Mint. Second Restrike, Paris Mint (1846-1860). Baker-48G, R.4. Copper, 68.5 mm, 159.0 gm. Three horse's legs only show under Washington's horse's midsection, and the O in PRIMO is oval, rather than round. Edge-stamped with pointing hand and CUIVRE, as expected. The pointing hand edge-stamp narrows the striking timeframe down to 1846-60. Virtually Uncirculated save for faint cabinet friction, and with a small rim bruise at 7 o'clock on the obverse.
