1759-1959 Canada Quebec 200th Anniversary Gold Medal, MS65 Uncertified. Gold, 58 mm, 18 kt, 121 gm, 2.914 oz AGW. Design by P. Vincze. Medal commemorating the bicentenary of the capture of Quebec, 1759. Obverse: Busts of Generals Montcalm (three-quarters right) and Wolfe (left); with a scene of the landing below. Inscription: MONTCALM QUEBEC WOLFE (on a ribbon). Obverse legend: SEPTEMBER 1759. Reverse: Three men placing a section of fluted column on a wall, symbolizing the building of the nation by the English, French, and Indians. Reverse Legend: TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO. Inscription: 1759 1959. In reverse exergue: CANADA. A beautifully preserved gold medal with a lovely, modernistic design and pristine surfaces. This piece is a true Gem, although it remains uncertified as such.
