Honoring William Wellesley-Pole (1763-1845), the 3rd Earl of Mornington and from 1821 to 1842 The Lord Maryborough. From 1814 to 1823 he served as master of the Mint under Lord Liverpool's government. Obverse: Wellesley-Pole facing right, signed PISTRUCCI at the 6 o'clock rim. Reverse: extensive Latin legends which pay tribute to Wellesley-Pole's nine years as master of the Mint. A splendid medal with a numismatic theme.
