1959 Three-Piece Set of Hawaiian Statehood Medals, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Each 63 mm. Gold medal 216.5 gm (6.96 oz) of .900 fine gold (pure gold net 194.85 gm/6.26 oz), number 24 of 50 struck. Silver medal silver 133.4 gm (4.3 oz) of sterling (.925 fine) silver (pure silver net 123.4 gm/3.97 oz), edge-stamped 1643. Bronze medal 126.9 gm (4.07 oz). Design on each: obv. THE ALOHA STATE / AUGUST 21, 1959, map of several islands with names incused, HAWAII 50TH STATE in inset, rev. STATE OF HAWAII / UA . MAU . KE . EA . O . KA . AINA . I . KA . PONO ., "The life (sovereignty) of the land is perpetuated in (by) righteousness," 1959 and state seal in center. Each edge-stamped MEDALLIC ART CO. N.Y. As struck, with wonderful aesthetics. The bronze and silver medals are in a two-piece screw-post plastic leatherette holder with HAWAII STATEHOOD embossed in gold lettering; the gold medal is raw. No paperwork, but all pieces are as-struck, beautiful problem-free pieces.
