Description
1795 Middlesex/Lackington's Conder Token. D&H-358a. Copper, milled edge, 28.6 mm. J. LACKINGTON / FINSBURY SQUARE around, bust facing right with date under truncation. Figure of Fame on reverse, ALLEN & CO. HALFPENNY OF LACKINGTON at edge with a smaller concentric legend reading CHEAPEST BOOKSELLERS IN THE WORLD. Traces of mint red coloration is observed on both sides, although a touch of rub on the highpoints limits the grade to AU58. Close inspection with the aid of magnification reveals minor traces of dirt build-up within the devices. Overall, this is an attractive Conder token.Auction Info
