1883 3CN PR68 PCGS. Light sky-blue and lime hues further the eye appeal of this fully struck and immaculate example. Proofs and commercial strikes combined for only 10,609 pieces in 1883, evidence of a denomination in decline since Five Cent Nickels were coined in record quantities that year. The 8s in the date exhibit minor recutting. Population: 4 in 68, none finer (1/05).

This amazing 1883 Three Cent Nickel rests on the threshold of perfection, being intricately detailed and showing nary a trace of carbon or the slightest distraction. Unsurpassable quality.
