1894 $10 PR66 Cameo PCGS. It has been just over six years since we last offered an 1894 proof Eagle and now, following on the heels of the lovely Choice Proof just offered, we are thrilled to present a two-toned Premium Gem specimen, surely one of the finest in existence. As pointed out previously, the mintage of this rare issue of just 43 pieces has been reduced by attrition to fewer than two dozen survivors. Essentially as produced, the glittering surfaces offer pinpoint sharpness and a significant degree of contrast. A solid Condition Census proof 1894 Eagle, being two points finer than any specimen we have ever offered. It may be years or even decades before a coin of comparable quality is sold through auction. Population: 1 in 66 Cameo, 0 finer (12/04).
