1973-S 25C Washington Quarter -- Double Struck on 1C Planchet -- PR68 Red and Brown NGC. 3.13 grams, within tolerance for a bronze one cent planchet. The fields are deeply reflective despite the "starburst" appearance produced by the quarter dies on the small planchet. Deep blue and violet hues join the copper-red color of the metal. Well centered, showing all border legends. The second strike appears as a "ghost" around the primary impression.

1973-S 25C Washington Quarter -- Double Struck on Cent Planchet -- PR65 Red and Brown NGC. (3.1 grams). The date is distorted by metal flow but still readable. This reflective piece, in Gem condition, is mostly copper-orange in color, although overlays of subtle amber and violet toning prevent a full Red designation from NGC. A few flecks are not bothersome. Much of LIBERTY and QUARTER DOLLAR run off the flan.

The right-hand margins and all of their border legends are off the flan, although enough of the date is visible to make the issue identifiable. Copper-orange surfaces yield deep reflectivity in the fields, and only a few spots are seen.

An intriguing error coin duo, struck from clashed proof dies. One of the clashed pieces is on the expected quarter planchet, while the other is struck on a proof dime planchet. The wrong planchet error is struck off center, with LIBERTY and the denomination off the flan. Both pieces are brilliant and well-defined. (Total: 2 coins)

The date and mintmark are visible, although distorted by the small, thin dime planchet. Most of IN GOD WE TRUST is visible, as well as much of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, although other peripheral legends are off the flan. A hint of light golden toning graces each side.
