1868 3CN PR65 Deep Cameo PCGS. Outstanding white on black contrast provides imposing eye appeal. This essentially untoned Gem is well struck, as expected for a proof specimen. A few faint roller marks (as produced) cross Liberty's cheek, and a tiny lint mark (as struck) rests in the field area just to the left of her nose. With or without exceptional cameo contrast, the 1868 is one of the scarcest proof issues in the series. Perhaps only the 1865 is more elusive. Population: 6 in 65 Deep Cameo, 0 finer (9/05).
