1976-S $1 Silver MS68 PCGS. An impressive high grade coin, this piece is well struck and entirely free of color, with shimmering silver-white surfaces that are highly lustrous and nearly pristine. A faint, thin luster graze, in the left reverse field, is the only minor surface flaw. None have been graded any higher, by PCGS (7/05). (PCGS# 7422)

All Mint State San Francisco Bicentennial Dollars feature a Type One reverse with thick letters, while the clad and silver proofs of the same date and mintmark exhibit the thin letters Type Two reverse. 1857 1C Flying Eagle Cent Clashed with Half Dollar MS64 PCI (MS62 Cleaned, Reverse Lamination). FS-003, Snow-9. A lightly cleaned and boldly struck pale gold example of this popular double denomination die clash, present across AMERICA and on the left obverse field, corresponding to the central outline on a Seated Liberty Half. A mostly retained horizontal lamination extends from the upper left wreath to the field above the N in ONE. (PCGS# 2016)

1860 1C Indian Cent--Flipover Double Struck--MS61 ANACS. The tops of the TES in STATES and OF from the first strike are detected on the left reverse relative to the second strike. On the obverse of the second strike, traces of the wreath from the initial blow from the dies are found between 6 and 8 o'clock. Two sets of denticles are sometimes evident. An unusual error on a Mint State Small Cent from such an early date. A bold golden-brown piece with clean and subdued surfaces.

1863 1C Indian Cent--Struck 45% Off Center--VG10 PCGS. This golden-brown example is substantially off center toward 10:30. UNITED STATES is absent, but the date is fully intact. The denomination reads ONE ENT since the C is off the flan. A few specks of dark debris reside in recessed areas, but the eye appeal is pleasing. Off center Copper Nickel Cents are very scarce.

A boldly struck deep brown example that has only the faintest indication of highpoint wear. A couple of small digs are on the unstruck portion.

Undated 1C Bronze Indian Cent--Struck 35% Off Center--Fine 15 PCGS. Widely off center toward 6 o'clock, the entire date and most of the shield is absent. Light tan-brown in color with minute corrosion. BE is mostly worn, but the other letters in LIBERTY are clear. Presumably dated between late 1864 and 1877, since an arrow feather points to the center of M, and the N in ONE is shallow.

1886 1C Type Two Indian Cent--Double Struck, Corroded--ANACS. Fine Details, Net VG8. The first strike is normal, the second strike is 80% off center toward 2 o'clock and is centered at 11 o'clock relative to the first strike. All letters in LIBERTY are at least partly visible, BER is 50% present and the other letters are clear. Moderate gray verdigris is noted on both sides. The 1886 Type Two is one of the most desirable post-1878 varieties within the Indian Cent series.

While Uncirculated 1901 Cents are not rare, widely off center Gems are a different matter, and it might take years of searching to locate another off center example of similar quality.

1940 1C MS65 Red Uncertified. This is a square glass piggy bank filled with approximately two hundred 1940 Lincoln cents. The coins appear to be unusually well preserved, and the original seal on the glass box is unbroken. On the outside of the box, there is lettering which reads "Treasure Island On San Francisco Bay, Fair in '40" on one side, and "Golden Gate International Exposition, 1940, San Francisco" on the other. An attractive and unusual item. (PCGS# 2686)
